Creative Writing Exercise, Part 1

A Hemingway scene1 written in the style of Borges: I noticed the labyrinth of trees on my left, it appeared as a mysterious maze. I watched as the infinite trees erased the endless fields, and marveled at the ancient, unearthed bonsai tree. I imagined the raging storm that had ripped it from the ground, forcing it back into the bamboo grove. I thought about how its roots were now swirling with dirt, each tiny rock a microcosm of solar systems, […] Continue reading »

Creative Writing Exercise, Part 2

A Borges1 scene written in the style of Hemingway: Nick looked for his explanation. He reached into his pack and easily remembered. It felt good. Nick knew the answer. It is not complete. It is not untrue. The answer looked like a big picture of everything, just like Jenkins had said. Nick remembered Jenkins. It had been a long time since he had seen him. Jenkins was not like Bill and John. They said the answer was plain and ordinary. […] Continue reading »

Pink Floyd 2005 Reunion Putting together a Pink Floyd Discography for any readers wanting to hear legendary music. SO AMAZING to see Pink Floyd reunite after so many years. Never thought it would happen. But yeah, the show looked amazing, fortunately was able to watch on tv (wish I were there LIVE). For Floyd fans, it just means a lot that David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason were able to get together one last time. Continue reading »

Subject: praise & criticism Message: Hello Google, i have been using the google homepage (google.com) as my personal internet start page for several years now. i have emailed before with praise for the page’s very simple & elegant design asthetics. however, i am occasionally annoyed with the periodic advertising frequenting the page. For example, today i discovered the return of the pesky “google toolbar” advertisement. yuck. (strictly speaking of the start page) i realize that i am scrutinizing a bit […] Continue reading »

Timeline Proper

The new Timeline category here at Perishable Press will consist of articles that recall various events from the distant and not-so-distant past. These posts are by no means comprehensive or even 100% accurate, but rather reflect the recalled essence of whatever memory is represented therein. Further, these articles will be posted sporadically and in no immediately obvious order, depending on whatever reflection happens to be preoccupying us at the moment. Plus, we tend to romanticize events somewhat, so leave if […] Continue reading »

Thoughts
I disabled AI in Google search results. It was making me lazy.
Went out walking today and soaked up some sunshine. It felt good.
I have an original box/packaging for 2010 iMac if anyone wants it free let me know.
Always ask AI to cite its sources. Also: “The Web” is not a valid answer.
All free plugins updated and ready for WP 6.6 dropping next week. Pro plugin updates in the works also complete :)
99% of video thumbnail/previews are pure cringe. Goofy faces = Clickbait.
