AI Policy
It’s not really a “policy”. Basically I avoid anything AI, LLM, or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days. Just not interested. Not even interested in writing this “policy”, however the relentless stuffing of all things AI down our collective throats demands a response.
So here it is. I have used AI numerous times in the past. It’s useful for doing lots of rote and mundane tasks. But for anything even mildly important or kind of interesting, AI just isn’t up to snuff. Too much incompetence and too many errors every time I’ve approached it. Honestly I’ve tried.
Beyond the boring politics and economic.. — *YAAWWWNNN* — oh wait, was I writing something..? Sorry just dozed off there for a moment.. Anyway, I like writing my own code. I prefer building my own things. Using my brain is the way for me. I just enjoy the process of digital creation too much to let some mindless program try to do it for me.
Going forward. My official “AI policy” is simply to avoid it as much as possible. Resist its inevitable intrusion into literally every facet of human existence. That’s not to say there won’t be times where I crack open the latest chat script or whatever and play around, maybe do some collation or whatever.
But my current mindset says that I won’t be using AI for much of anything. In fact, already I’m sharpening my “avoid AI” skills on the regular. Reaping the benefits of human thought and effort. I’ll take critical thinking and human awareness over some glorified computer program any day of the week.
Everything I’ve ever written, published, developed, or built has been done without AI. Most of my creations are open source and given away for free to the community. It’s a labor of love, baby. In the trenches, front-line, hands-on, real-life experience. And lots of it.
So what if you are here and happen to LOVE AI? I mean, all the hype is 100% real, right..? Well it doesn’t matter. All are welcome here. Whether you’re first in line to worship the beast, or hate it completely with your whole self, right here, right now, you are welcome.
