10 years on the same computer

This is the 10th year working on my first iMac. It’s still an incredible machine, but gonna need to upgrade maybe this year.

Nice minimal design

Another fine example of clean, focused minimalist design at michaelsoriano.com. Great content too.

Disable Chrome cache

To get Chrome to load latest scripts, styles, and images, open Dev Tools and check the box to Disable Cache (under Network tab). Works w/ Firefox too.

Don’t be lazy

Don’t be lazy. Learn how to search. Figure it out for yourself.

Zelda: BotW

Recently completed Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Now playing through again on Master Mode, having a blast.

Code comments

If you need comments to explain your code, you are doing it wrong.

Life outside of Facebook

There is so much life and fresh air outside of Facebook. Really have been enjoying spending more time in other spaces.

Opening comments

Closed threads are no fun. So I’m opening up comments again on select posts. My tutorial on trapping bad bots for example.

Chrome color picker

I should’ve known. Chrome has a color picker built into the Inspector tool.

Affinity Photo

In the process of switching from years of Photoshop use over to Affinity Photo. Will be posting on the experience soon.

gilli.is

Another fine example of clean, minimal design @ gilli.is. Check out the HTML source code, nice clean and simple.

Perishable Press 15 Years Online

Next month the site will celebrate its 15-year anniversary. Or at least mention it with a formal post.

Simple takes work

Optimizing the balance between performance and aesthetics requires far more work than otherwise.

Thoughts blog

Setting up a side blog for thoughts is easy with WordPress. Register a custom post type and then use get_posts() to display in the sidebar.

scottbolinger.com

Really like the simplicity of design at scottbolinger.com.

First thought

I want to set up a stream of thoughts and display them in the sidebar.

I disabled AI in Google search results. It was making me lazy.
Went out walking today and soaked up some sunshine. It felt good.
I have an original box/packaging for 2010 iMac if anyone wants it free let me know.
Always ask AI to cite its sources. Also: “The Web” is not a valid answer.
All free plugins updated and ready for WP 6.6 dropping next week. Pro plugin updates in the works also complete :)
99% of video thumbnail/previews are pure cringe. Goofy faces = Clickbait.
