Building out

Gonna be posting a lot of content this year. I have tons of stuff that I want to share.

Disable JavaScript in Chrome

To disable JavaScript in Chrome, open inspector and type Cmd+Shift+P. Then type “java” at the prompt and select “Disable JavaScript”. To re-enable, close inspector.

UpdraftPlus

Been using UpdraftPlus for several years now. Solid, reliable plugin for making database backups.

Frontend metrics tool

Super useful tool for gathering frontend metrics: mydevice.io.

10 years on the same computer

This is the 10th year working on my first iMac. It’s still an incredible machine, but gonna need to upgrade maybe this year.

Nice minimal design

Another fine example of clean, focused minimalist design at michaelsoriano.com. Great content too.

Disable Chrome cache

To get Chrome to load latest scripts, styles, and images, open Dev Tools and check the box to Disable Cache (under Network tab). Works w/ Firefox too.

Don’t be lazy

Don’t be lazy. Learn how to search. Figure it out for yourself.

Zelda: BotW

Recently completed Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Now playing through again on Master Mode, having a blast.

Code comments

If you need comments to explain your code, you are doing it wrong.

Life outside of Facebook

There is so much life and fresh air outside of Facebook. Really have been enjoying spending more time in other spaces.

Opening comments

Closed threads are no fun. So I’m opening up comments again on select posts. My tutorial on trapping bad bots for example.

Chrome color picker

I should’ve known. Chrome has a color picker built into the Inspector tool.

Affinity Photo

In the process of switching from years of Photoshop use over to Affinity Photo. Will be posting on the experience soon.

gilli.is

Another fine example of clean, minimal design @ gilli.is. Check out the HTML source code, nice clean and simple.

Thoughts
Upgraded iMac to Ventura. Disabled "unsend mail" feature and found some (now) hidden wallpaper settings. Overall smooth upgrade.
( $this ) is bloat. ($this) is better.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom coming May 12, 2023. Absolutely pumped.
Favorite thing for breakfast is a tall glass of cold water. Hits the spot every time.
Fall is my favorite season :)
Still a few days left before “Unlimited” pro licenses are no longer available.
Getting back into it after a nice mini vacation. Time to ramp up and get busy.
