I was there also. 16 @ the time, Metallica nut! Absolutely one of the best shows and all around days in my life! What a great memory. I would love to find more pics or articles.

No way dude! – I totally remember seeing you there! – Just kidding :) ..but I do remember Metallica cold rocking the planet for like an hour and a half.. I barely remember anything else though :) Anyway, I will try to get a few more article chunks posted here soon. A friend from work was there also and somehow managed to save a copy of the next day’s newspaper which featured a three-page review of the concert, photos, etc. – Stay tuned..

I was there, we were part of a 3 bus tour from Alberta, Canada. I threw my metalhead jean jacket up on the stage during fade to black. Right at Kirk Hammet. I remember also a lot of things being thrown at Dokken. It was very hot that day, people getting pulled from the croud. I was on the floor general admission, being so squished and hose down by the security.
Good times

@Andy: Ahh yeh – it was damn hot there on the floor. I started the day in the bleachers with some friends. After the hallucinogens began to kick in, we could see Metallica behind the MOR set, leaving their trailer and walking toward the stage. High as a kite, we ran to the floor and fought our way close to the front. Metallica played a devastating set — I nearly broke my neck. Thank God for those hoses.

I went to this concert in Kansas City. Probably the most memorable concert I’ve ever gone to. Mid July, hot as hell, and some of my favorite bands ever. Good times. Great memories.

@Jason: “Hot as hell” pretty much says it all. One of the best concerts I have ever experienced, despite the heat. Great memories indeed :)

Yes thank God for those hoses. It was way hot and I ended up in the medical tent for oxygen. Of course being young and crazy, I ran back to the front for Metallica…
